Disclosure Policy
Hey, folks, I’ve become an Amazon affiliate. Why? Because websites run on money. And unfortunately I’m not making enough from my books to keep this site up and running. At least at the moment.
So what does it mean to you that I’m an affiliate? Very simply that I get a small commission from Amazon if you click on a link that takes you to a product page on Amazon. The commission comes to me from Amazon — at no cost to you. Amazon is sharing a tiny bit of their profits with me.
So why this policy? Because I don’t think Buyer Beware is a good policy to follow. The Golden Rule is much better. And just as I’d like to know ahead of time that perhaps your links are affiliate links, so I’m letting you know mine are. In addition, the Feds, in the form of the FCC, require bloggers who sell items or have affiliate links to disclose that fact to their readers. The Feds apparently don’t think Buyer Beware is a good policy either. So, in line with my libertarian philosophy and to stay on the FCC’s good side, you now have my policy.
The bottom line, though, is by clicking on the affiliate links you’re telling Amazon to give me a dime to help keep the lights on. And I appreciate that.
Thank you for your support!
